OCR: LIFE by Titian in the royal collection and by Rubens, whom he met in 1628. He was in Italy from 1629-31 and 1648-51; on his second visit he painted Pope Innocent X (1650, Doria Gallery, Rome). Velázquez's work includes outstanding formal history painting, "The Surrender of Breda" (1634 35, Prado, Madrid), studies of the male nude and a reclining female nude, "The Rokeby Venus," of about 1648 (National Gallery, London).
